Academy FAQS

Who can access the Academy?

The Academy is accessible to all employees of City Hive Corporate Member firms as part of their membership.

Who are the sessions aimed at?

We aim to support professionals in all roles, and across all levels. We welcome everyone to all sessions, although we may provide descriptions as to who we think would be the most likely beneficiary. Employees are encouraged to regularly visit the Events Calendar for upcoming sessions and to choose those that best meet their personal and professional needs.

How much does it cost to attend a session?

There is no cost to employees from City Hive member firms. Before each event, we provide our member firms with a code for their employees to use during registration. Attendees from non-member firms can purchase tickets for individual events through our website.

How do I register for an event?

Employees from City Hive member firms register using the unique member code. This code should be shared with employees in order for them to gain free access. Please contact us if you are unsure of your member code.

Why are the events linked to pillars?

Our Academy programme is based upon three pillars of development which are used to shape and inform the roster of masterclasses, events, workshops, and forums.

Each event is assigned to a specific pillar, developed to ensure that attendees at all levels and across all functions are given the opportunity to gather a range of knowledge and skills to support both career and personal progression.

  • Balanced: Helping individuals connect holistically and harmoniously with their self in both their professional and personal life.

  • Effective: Helping individuals see how committing to enhancing and evolving both the organisation they work for, and the wider industry ecosystem serves the good of the industry and offers benefits to all.

  • Empowered: Helping individuals to take ownership of their own career development and professional path.

Why are most of the events online?

We aim to support our member firm employees across the globe. Online events ensure we are able to reach as many of these employees as possible. The experts that we work are generally used to working in online spaces and creating an environment that induces participation and belonging.

Will the events clash with our own internal L&D training and support?

Our programme is shaped with the support of our Academy Advisory Board to reflect emerging and enduring themes of interest. We aim for our Academy to complement the training and development on offer by our supporter firms. Furthermore, employees from firms that sign-up with us as City Hive members have unlimited access to all City Hive mentoring training – meaning that if you are unable to join our mentoring programme but have an internal programme, these mentors and mentees are welcome to attend our highly regarded mentoring workshops.

Who do you work with?

We ask all new coaches to complete our Due Diligence process. This process has been designed to clearly articulate how City Hive expects to work with members of our Bureau and sets out how we strive to ensure that sessions are being delivered to the highest possible standards.

What about if I have an idea or speaker recommendation for a future academy event?

Get in touch! We welcome input from our members on emerging themes across industry-specific, DEI and the soft-skills training space, any speakers of note and of course topics our members are interested in learning more about. Please email us at Hq@cityhive.co.uk

How can my firm register for the 2025 Cross-Company Mentoring Scheme?

We are in the process of registering member firms for our next cohort. For more information on the scheme please contact us.
